The Stratolaunch is the world's largest airplane

If the name Stratolaunch is any indication, the world’s largest plane will be raising the bar for space launch in no time.

Founded in 2011 by Microsoft co-founder Paul G. Allen, Stratolaunch Systems is developing the air-launch platform that will make access to space more reliable and convenient. By standardizing access to low Earth orbit (LEO), the company can create opportunities for government, commercial and philanthropic groups to advance research and technology from space.

The Mojave Desert, in California, is home to Stratolaunch Systems. Currently under construction at the Mojave Air & Space Port is the world’s largest airplane, a plane that will be used to launch small satellites into space.
