Greenpeace trolled Trump over Paris Climate Agreement with display on U.S. Embassy

Environmental group Greenpeace trolls Trump with display at U.S. Embassy in Berlin

President Donald Trump’s decision to pull the United States out of the Paris climate agreement was met with swift criticism by many. But none were quite as visual as environmental group Greenpeace.

On Thursday, Trump made the announcement to leave the international agreement signed by 195 countries to fight the effects of climate change. Greenpeace made its feelings on the matter quite clear when it projected a message to Trump on the side of the U.S. Embassy in Berlin. The message is obvious, and it doesn’t even use his name.

The image is a silhouette of Trump, with a message reading, “#TotalLoser, so sad!”

The sentiment quickly spread over social media, naturally. This demonstration wasn’t the only one made my activists and lawmakers around the world. Greenpeace retweeted an image showing demonstrators outside the U.S. Embassy in Madrid on Friday.

Landmarks in the U.S. and across the word were lit up green, symbolizing the universal support for the Paris climate agreement.

It took less than an hour after Trump’s announcement for the mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, to announce that Hôtel de Ville (Paris city hall) would be lit green to reaffirm the city’s commitment to the agreement.

And at 10 p.m. Paris time, city hall was a stunningly green display.
