The right way to fold towels

Towels, they’re not the most exciting thing in the world, but everyone has them. For something that is so common, not many people know how to actually fold them like a pro. If you’re looking to give your bathroom that air of je-ne-sais-quoi, a properly folded towel might just be your solution. It’s the perfect way to make your bathroom look clean and tidy (even if it’s not!).

Bath towels

Take one corner of the towel length-wise in each hand and bring the corners together to fold the towel in half. Rotate the towel to hold the longer side’s corners and fold the towel in thirds. Then, fold the towel in half and you have a perfectly folded towel, just like you’d find at a hotel.

Hand and tea towels

The first step is to lay the tea towel out on a flat surface. Fold each side in one-quarter of the way, so that both ends meet in the middle. Rotate the towel and do the same thing along the sides that haven’t already been folded in. Then, fold the two sides on top of one another and smooth the folds. Voila! A perfectly folded tea towel.

Face towels

Are you ready for the easiest folding technique imaginable? Fold the towel into thirds, and then fold it in half. That’s it. It’s really that easy.

The swan

Want to get a little fancy? Sure, folding a towel in thirds and in half is neat and tidy, but is it exciting? Not compared to this! If you really want to impress your guests like never before, bust out something creative and crazy that’ll have them leaving your bathroom going “Wow!”

The swan is actually a lot easier to do than you might think. All you’ll need is one towel (it could be a bath towel or hand towel, depending on how big or small you want your swan to be). Lay the towel out flat and start rolling the two bottom corners in towards the center. Once completed, the towel should resemble a V-shape. Take the point of the V (which will become the swan’s beak), and create an S shape with the towel so that the body remains flat, to create a neck and a head.

Depending on how stiff your towels are, this will be sufficient. If not, you can roll up a hand towel and fold it in half, placing it behind the swan’s neck for support.

Ready to wow your guests?

You can find tons of other ways to fold your towels; from roses to cats, there’s a way to impress any guest you may have. Folding towels can be fun and exciting; which do you prefer? The regular perfectly folded towel, or the creative towel animals?
