We’re nearly a month into Rachel Lindsay’s season of The Bachelorette, and ratings aren’t looking good.

Not that we want to get ahead of ourselves. We won’t jump to conclusions about Rachel Lindsay’s popularity on this season of The Bachelorette. Plus the men vying for Lindsay’s attention are all full of drama, both on and off screen. But something just isn’t working.

It will be interesting to see how, if at all, the recent Bachelor in Paradise scandal will affect this season of Bachelorette. Corinne Olympios, one of the individuals involved, has appeared this season in support of Lindsay. That being said, Olympios won’t appear again, but the scandal in the franchise will certainly be on people’s minds.

As for the ratings, Nielsen reports that the first three episodes saw a ratings drop of 11 percent from JoJo Fletcher’s season. The show averages about 7.2 million viewers, which is still substantial, but such a drop in numbers doesn’t bode well for Lindsay.

All of that aside, they also point out that reality show ratings are lower across the board this year. Shows like Survivor, Dancing with the Stars, The Voice and The Bachelor all saw rating drops of between 5 and 8 percent.

Still, there’s some good news for Lindsay; her show may be down in ratings compared to Fletcher, but not the two previous bachelorettes. Comparing with Kaitlyn Bristowe’s 7.7 million viewers in 2015 and Andi Dorfman’s 7.6 million viewers in 2014, Lindsay is on par.

It’s still early, so don’t count our girl Lindsay out just yet. She’s got a long way to go, and as fans grow more attached to her and the guys, ratings are sure to grow.
