Donald Trump became the 45th President of the United States on January 20th. Much like his campaign and his presidency, his life has been highly documented.

On his 71st birthday, we decided to have a look back on Donald Trump’s journey from real estate mogul to President.

1. Before he made his way to business school, a young Donald Trump attended a military academy. It is said he excelled in his extracurricular activities, like being an Honor Cadet.

2. Much like the name of his book, Donald Trump loves the ‘Art of the Deal.’ He proved this when he managed to negotiate with New York City to grant a 40-year tax abatement for the Grant Hyatt Hotel – which was the first given to any commercial property.

3. After five years of delays and double the estimated cost, Trump offered to renovate dilapidated areas like this closed-down skating rink – at no profit to himself.
